Another one-day trip in Denmark …

We did want to go to Himmelbjerget last week after visiting Gert and Birthe close to Randers, but we never made it there .. Well, you know how time flies in good company, so instead we went home and postponed the trip to Himmelbjerget a few days. So yesterday while the weather was still good we went. First to Silkeborg to visit Aqua - the freshwater aquarium - and then to Himmelbjerget, one of the tallest places in Denmark, and with a spectacular view. It was a fun day for all of us. See more under photos of family activities.

Visit in Tebbestrup

Today we went to Tebbestrup close to Randers to visit our fellow husky friends Gert and Birthe, the breeder where we got Pusjkin and Jaimie. We spent most of the day with them and their Siberian Huskies and had a wonderful time. Gert and Birthe, thank you for having us today! The boys and I took many pictures (as always ;o)) ) that we have placed under Photoes of family activities. Enjoy!

Gendarmstien

Today we went on a trip to the special path close to the border to Germany. All the way we’re walking in Denmark, but can see German land close by. The path is called Gendarmstien (We followed a section of the Gendarmsti between Kruså and Kollund and back. A total of approx. 8 km. On the way we came through Kruså-dalen, the Kollund woods and Kollund toldsted). This track was used by the border guards on food between 1920 and 1958. We took pictures along the way. The first ones are taken when we had lunch on the edge of the woods close to Kollund, then a few at Kollund toldsted and back through the woods, and then onwards back to the parked car in Kruså. Before going home we went to Soenderhav for icecream ;o)The pictures speake for themselves … a beautiful trip!

Changes to my Cards page

Hi,
I changed the order of my cards, so the newest will be in front. This way you don’t have to run through all the previously displayed cards. I added some new cards to this page, so you better check it out.

We saw the Queen of Denmark

On Thursday this week we decided to go on a trip to Dybboel Moelle (important historical site in Danish war history) and to the island of Als. On the way to Dybboel Erik mentioned that the Queen of Denmark, Margrethe 2nd, and her husband, Prince Henrik, would be arriving in the town of Graasten, where they would be officially starting there summer vacation at the castle in Graasten (Graasten Slot). The boys and I thought it could be a fun experience to stop by Graasten to see this event, so Erik - who couldn’t care much less, by the way - parked the car, and the boys and I went the few minutes to the town center to welcome the royal family members. We took some pictures for you too see. They’ve been placed under Photoes of family activities. The Queen wore a blue jacket and a blue hat with a white shade, the Prince was in a black jacket with golden buttons and a white sailor like cap.

We went on to Dybboel Moelle historical center (see more under http://gb.sydjylland.com/index.lasso?page=325X2173 and http://gb.sydjylland.com/index.lasso?page=153X2398), where the boys got to make their own tin bullets and make pancakes … and after this visit we went to Als and the Kegnaes peninsula where we drove around and relaxed at one to the many beaches in the area.

We had a wonderful time …

Vacation time

Hi all, Summer vacation is here. We’ve decided to stay home this year, and go on some one-day trips. The first trip went to visit Lasse and Christina where they’ve moved to close to Fredericia. A really nice place in the basement of Christina’s parents house. After breakfast we went to the Zoo in Odense where Didde and Viktor, Lasse and Christina, Tommi, Jakob, Erik and myself had a wonderful time. The boys took a lot of pictures. See more under Photoes of family activities to the right. Enjoy!

Pusjkin likes berries

This is a good time of year for Pusjkin. Strawberries and redcurrants are just begging to be picked and eaten. Watch this … (yeah, I know, I held the camera wrong, but I’ll do better next time ;o))) )

And she turned 40 …

Hi all,

Well, it was my birthday last Sunday (1st June), and YES, I turned 40. Ok, there … I said it. Erik went to Germany (Bavaria) on business that morning, so instead of celebrating with the family I had a fun, relaxing day with the  boys, and later that day Didde stopped by for a two-girl stamp camp.

Today was the day when I had decided to celebrate this special day, so I had invited immediate family members to join us for a few hours. We were 23 people. Only two more couples had been invited, but they had other plans for the day. All in all we had a good time, and I myself certainly enjoyed the day and the company. Thank you to all of you for all the great presents and making this a great day.

Picking up the new bike

Today we went to the bike shop of Brdr. Jensen in Horsens to pick up the Honda Shadow that Erik bought recently. It was an exciting event that we have been looking forward to. We brought the boys so they too could get their gear and had a fun day. Well, it took a little longer to go home than expected since Eriks bike ran out of gas. The boys and Inge continued to the nearest town to pick up gas, and bought coke and ice cream for us and a cup of coffee for Erik. The rest of the trip home went well, and after dinner Erik took first Jakob then Inge for a small ride. Pictures are available under Photos of family activities to the right.

Trip to Gludsted Plantage

Hi,

We, Erik and I, the boys and the dogs, went to Gludsted Plantage today for the one year anniversary gathering of the E litter from Gert and Birthes, because these 8 beautiful “puppies” turned one year old yesterday. We had a wonderful time on a day that we had been looking very much forward to, and spent nearly 4 hours together. The weather was fantastic with 26 degrees celsius. Unfortunately not all “puppies” were able to join in, so we missed Elton and Star, but we did get to meet with both Darkie, Enok (and his buddy Chinook), Eddie, Spotty, Enya and our Jaimie of course, along with mother Pusjkin and father Ebony, and of course all their human relatives. Thank you to Gert and Birthe for this great initiative and to all of you for a fun day in Gludsted Plantage. Of course we took a ton of pictures that I have placed under Photos of our Siberian Huskies. If any of you have pictures from today I’d love for you to share them with me. Please leave a comment to this post, and I’ll get in touch with you. Thank you!

Tommi also took pictures today with his new camera that he got for his birthday, and I have created a new Tommi’s page, where you can find the photos he took.
