Hi,
Yesterday I got an exciting phone call related to the fact that both Jakob and Tommi had participated in the summer vacation reading contest at the local library in Toftlund. We were asked to please stop by the library today at 10:00 am and be part of the ceremony, so off we went. As part of the ceremony we were treated with music from the local symphonic children’s orchestra, e.g. a piano talent from the boy’s school. He’s only around 12 years old, but he’s a fantastic talent … In the book reading contest there were 3 age categories: 6-8 years, 9-11 years and 12-14 years. It turned out that Tommi had won the category 6-8 years for reading the most pages over the past six weeks - a total of 965 pages. YEAH!!! The prize was a gift certificate of DKK 200 for a book store. Cool!!! As you can imagine Tommi is very excited about this :o) I took some pictures from the ceremony for you to see. I placed them under Photos of family activities.

Hi all, Summer vacation is here. We’ve decided to stay home this year, and go on some one-day trips. The first trip went to visit Lasse and Christina where they’ve moved to close to Fredericia. A really nice place in the basement of Christina’s parents house. After breakfast we went to the Zoo in Odense where Didde and Viktor, Lasse and Christina, Tommi, Jakob, Erik and myself had a wonderful time. The boys took a lot of pictures. See more under Photoes of family activities to the right. Enjoy!

Hi all,
Well, it was my birthday last Sunday (1st June), and YES, I turned 40. Ok, there … I said it. Erik went to Germany (Bavaria) on business that morning, so instead of celebrating with the family I had a fun, relaxing day with the boys, and later that day Didde stopped by for a two-girl stamp camp.
Today was the day when I had decided to celebrate this special day, so I had invited immediate family members to join us for a few hours. We were 23 people. Only two more couples had been invited, but they had other plans for the day. All in all we had a good time, and I myself certainly enjoyed the day and the company. Thank you to all of you for all the great presents and making this a great day.

Today we went to the bike shop of Brdr. Jensen in Horsens to pick up the Honda Shadow that Erik bought recently. It was an exciting event that we have been looking forward to. We brought the boys so they too could get their gear and had a fun day. Well, it took a little longer to go home than expected since Eriks bike ran out of gas. The boys and Inge continued to the nearest town to pick up gas, and bought coke and ice cream for us and a cup of coffee for Erik. The rest of the trip home went well, and after dinner Erik took first Jakob then Inge for a small ride. Pictures are available under Photos of family activities to the right.

Erik got himself a motorcycle today - a Honda Shadow vt 1100 from 1988. It is similar to te Shadow he had when living in Indiana, so apart from being exiting it’s a bit nostalgic too. We just signed the papers today, so we’ll go pick it up within the next two weeks when it is ready. Yeah!!!

Hi,
It was Tommi’s birthday on Saturday April 26th. He’s now 8 years old. We started the day by waking him up with a happy birthday song and a present. After breakfast and opening more presents we went to Ribe. The boys have been begging to go see the Viking Museum in Ribe for quite some time, so on this trip to Ribe it finally happend. It was an interesting experience for all of us. We learned about Vikings living in this part of Denmark in the years between 0500-0700, and the Middelage around the year 1500. They even had a special childrens exhibition where we all were allowed to play with the things showing how a family lived in Denmark in the Middelage. We also went on a trip through the old city and went to the worlds worst restaurant ever. Well, we decided that along the way, and agreed never to go there again ;o) We went by the bakery store before going home where each of us chose the cake we wanted the most, and we had that with coffee and juice after we returned to the house.
On Sunday we had the family over for breakfast. Tommi had a great weekend, and so did we ;o) See pictures under family photos. Enjoy!

Hi all,
Guess what?! The Easter Bunny stopped by our house, so the boys went outside this morning to look for easter eggs. It was freezing cold outside, but who cares when it is hunting time. Jakob and Tommi had a strategy up front - find eggs as fast as possible, and share everything afterwards. Good strategy if you ask me :o) 30 colorful eggs were hidden throughout the garden, and some were really hard to find :o) Perhaps you can find them in some of the pictures?! The eggs contained candy, erasers, bouncy balls, money, chocolates, etc. See more under family activities to the right.
Happy Easter!

Hi,
We are SOOO disappointed! We had planned for this trip to Gludsted Plantage today with a lot of other Husky freaks, for a fun day in the forest at Gludsted Plantage south of Ikast. BUT the weather decided to show its ugly wintery face for what feels like the first time this season, so the trip was canceled. Buh huh …
Hmm, what to do, what to do, with a whole day ahead of us and a packed lunch box :o)
Happy Easter, y’all!

Hi,
Didde and Viktor stopped by for breakfast this morning. We took some pictures that you can see in the family photos folder to the right. Viktor is such a cute little guy!
Later today we went to the gymnastics show in Løgumkloster. Tommi and his team mates did a really great job again. I added the photos from this event to the gym photos from Thursday this week. They are also on the page Photos of family activities to the right.
