Welcome to the Schaumann’s website …

Harleys first trip to the woods

We went to Draved Skov (the woods at Draved) today - Harley’s first trip to the woods. He loved it, and so did the rest of us. Harley’s biggest challenge was when he needed to cross a puddle of mudd, but HE DID IT !!! When we got back home we made Jack-o-Lanterns - or at least the boys did. We put tea lights in them, and they are now decorating the front of our house. Hope you all had a fantastic weekend.dsc_00452

Schaumann news

Hi all,
Well, it has definetely been too long since I posted last. Promise that I’ll try to improve the frequency. The latest news from us was when we had gotten Geena - our Siberian Husky girl from 27th December, 2008. Since then we have said goodbye to Maine Coon Dolly (mother of Charlie) who was sick and was put to sleep in April 2009. During summer we picked up Maine Coons - kitten, Antlia (Lia), and 3½ year old Bella Madonna, who needed a new home. Later that summer - on August 1, 2009, Siberian Husky Harley was born, and he moved in with us on 16th October, 2009. All together we now have 3 Maine Coons, Charlie (8), Bella (almost 4) and Lia (6 months), and 3 Siberian Huskies, Pusjkin (9½), Geena (almost 1) and Harley (12 weeks).
The boys are doing great, and Tommi has finally showed some interest in soccer, so he has now played half a season without quiting, and by now started up the indoor training with Jakob - they are on the same team. Erik has become a soccer trainer - not to our boys - to the girl that are same age as our boys. Apart from the familiy, the pets and the stamping my latest initiative is that I have started up running on a regular basis. I’m trying to get out 3 times a week - Hope I will be able to stick to that also when it gets really cold outside c”,)

Additions to the site

With the new Wordpress we have a new addition to the schaumanns.eu site. To the right you find a new page simply called “Photos” where all my photos from Flickr are added as albums.

May I present …

CIMG2374

Hi all,

It’s been a while. Hopefully I get to post a little more now that my favorite nerd has assisted me with Wordpress - again (thanks Dennis  c”,)

Above you can see a picture of our newest member of the Schaumann family - May I present to you: Geena. Geena was born on December 27th, 2008, and when we visited her and her siblings on January 10th 2009, we just knew that we had to have her come live with us. Geena is now 5 months old and as you can tell she is absolutely cute.

There may occur some odd / fun things over the coming days until I find my way around here. I’ll be back!

We had a fantastic weekend

Spending time with friends and dogs for instance in the woods around Silkeborg is our idea of a good weekend! We had a wonderful time. Also later when getting warm and having dinner with some of them … Once I get the to know the new wordpress setup I’ll add pictures …

Have a great week!

It’s been a while …

Hi Friends,

Well, it’s been a while since I posted new stuff, but now I finally found time to do so.

I put some pictures under photos of our Siberian Huskies. These photos are from a couple of weeks before Jaimie died, and are from the show we went to in Silkeborg in the beginning of September. We had a wonderful time, and the dogs and their owners were excited to be with fellow husky friends and their dogs … The most exciting part was when Birthe and Gert Kronholm got an honory award for their breed, and especially exciting for us, because Jaimie was one of the puppies shown along with two brothers and their father called Ebony.

I also put some new photos under family activities. Both from the Fall vacation week on Djursland, from when we were babysitting Viktor for almost 24 hours, and from a trip this Sunday when we went to Sandskær and just kept walking and enjoying nature for 1½ hours ;o) We just love these walks …

Enjoy!

Sad things in life

They say that nothing lasts forever. I agree, but sometimes one would expect some things to last longer …

The fact that I broke my left arm by the elbow 8 days ago, had surgery, and that it hurts like hell is NOTHING compared to what happened on Tuesday this past week. Our beloved puppy Jaimie (she was 16 months) who is mentioned in many places on this site was hit by a car and killed. She was my first dog ever, and we all loved her very much. She was part of the family as all our pets always will be … We feel very fortunate that we have her mother Pusjkin here, who is most definitely a special dog, but it doesn’t quite cover the hole in our hearts that the loss of Jaimie has created …

“We will always love you, Jaimie!”

The prize

Hi,
Yesterday I got an exciting phone call related to the fact that both Jakob and Tommi had participated in the summer vacation reading contest at the local library in Toftlund. We were asked to please stop by the library today at 10:00 am and be part of the ceremony, so off we went. As part of the ceremony we were treated with music from the local symphonic children’s orchestra, e.g. a piano talent from the boy’s school. He’s only around 12 years old, but he’s a fantastic talent … In the book reading contest there were 3 age categories: 6-8 years, 9-11 years and 12-14 years. It turned out that Tommi had won the category 6-8 years for reading the most pages over the past six weeks - a total of 965 pages. YEAH!!! The prize was a gift certificate of DKK 200 for a book store. Cool!!! As you can imagine Tommi is very excited about this :o) I took some pictures from the ceremony for you to see. I placed them under Photos of family activities.

YES, it works

Hi,
I’m really excited about the video stuff … It’s so cool that it works. Keep your eyes open for more in future. Have a great day!

Another go on the video thing

I got some help from the family IT genius on the video thing, so I’m giving it another try. Hope it works this time. Thanks, Dennis, for helping me out.
